Basic knowledge of covid19 and its prevention
Content
Abstract: this article is a summary of comparison between covid19 and flu, including its prevention, which focuses on serious, critical and death rate, as well as transmission approaches.
Preface
Prepping is good, not paranoia. “Preparing for the almost inevitable global spread of this virus, now dubbed COVID-19, is one of the most pro-social, altruistic things you can do in response to potential disruptions of this kind.”

Description and notes |
Incubation |
It is believed that on average, the incubation period of second- and third- generation virus carriers is longer |
outbreak |
Outbreak in Cities in China postponed for 1-2 weeks after Wuhan City. |
Symptoms |
Low fever, weakness and symptoms of the nose and mouth, dry cough, some gastrointestinal upset, muscle aches Note: After CT scanning, there are some abnormal in lungs found. |
asymptomatic |
swabs tested positive but no symptoms Note: 40-50% of all reported cases are asymptomatic |
Organs attacked |
Lungs, heart, kidney, stomach, liver and testicles, esp. lungs |
Classified by clinical symptoms |
mild, normal, serious, and critical(ICU) |
Contagion approaches |
The primary mode of transmission is through human-to-human via respiratory droplets that people exhale (such as coughing or sneezing). Furthermore, these droplets can fall on surfaces (incl tables, phones, desks, handles of doors and Notes: (1) airborne? after a research in a Chinese univ, 1 in 28 samples was confirmed as airborne spread. (2) pets: Scientists in HK found that after experiments, 2 dogs are tested mild positive. (3) fart, urine and feces:Urine and feces spread were confirmed. These means Wuhan virus spread is possible throughout public toilets. (4) it is deeply believed by doctors in Wuhan that tears can spread virus and is confirmed by Zhejiang University. (A more question is how about sweat?) (5) time and space: transmission is available within 1.5 metres in 20seconds-2 minute. |
WHO |
Don’t trust decisions made by WHO too much since they have already made over 3 times wrong decisions during February. Maybe, 80% of their decision made were lagged around 1-2 weeks due to various reasons incl politics and economy. |
Cure |
At the present, there is no effective medication and vaccine to cure Wuhan virus. Vaccine: at least 1 year later, it may be created since 1 year is the fastest history record. Note: However, there are some Antiviral drugs can mitigate sickness. |
Sequelae |
Currently, it is incurable, easy to relapse, lifelong virus carrier and some sequelae. Notes: Although many patients recovers, some of them (1) After weeks, they are tested positive again, which means that they can still infect others. (2) Their organs, esp incl lungs, have been harmed in long-life. |

Majority of deaths:
(1) 80% from over 60 year old
(2) 75% with pre-existing health conditions incl cardiovascular and diabetes
3. Prevention of #covid19
Kill |
Inactivation can be achieved by exposure to ultraviolet light, at a high temperature of 56 |
Prevention |
(1) Washing hands: use soap, disinfectant (2) Distance: When chatting with people, it is best to keep 1.5 metres. (3) Masks: if available, masks can reduce the chance of infection (4) Transportation: best to avoid planes, trains, buses, taxis, and public toilets during epidemic (5) No cluster: Avoiding grouping, no gathering meals, No parties |
